“Sword and the Human Shield” follows two main characters. Dean Alton, a 17-year old kid who is indestructible, and Chuck Bradley, his “legal guardian” who doesn’t have superpowers but possesses a magic sword that can be summoned at will. The relationship between this not-so-dynamic duo is the driving force behind the book.
supporting cast
Our supporting characters are analogs to characters we know and love. Sara Stern, A.K.A. Constellation Girl is a half-alien twenty-something with cosmic powers.
Martin Stillman is our Iron Man analog with bionic technology that pushes the limits of the human body. Stillman not only funds the efforts for the superhero team, which doesn’t so much have a name as it does a corporate identity (Stillman Bionics).
Helios, our superman analog is the “greatest superhero of our time.”
